Take hwy. 20 to Ashton and turn on to E 1400 N., Marysville rd (the road that takes you to Mesa Falls. Turn right on Cave Falls Rd. Go a few miles past the girls camp turn left on Forest service Rd 246. Take that Rd for 6 miles. It will take you straight to the lake.

This is a primative campsite with about 10-12 campsites.

Nice camping and fishing for someone looking to relax next to a quite calm lake in the middle of a lodgepole pine forest. There are lily pads all around the edge of the lake with really cool caterpillars all over them.

Bring your own water. You should be able to gather firewood from the nearby forest. There are also bear boxes to put your food in.

You can swim in horseshoe lake, but the lillypads might be a little bit bothersome to get through. There is a floating dock in the lake that a juvenile camp uses. When the camp is not in use it's fun to play on.

This is a small lake that is perfect for canoeing on. You can also fish from the banks or from your boat. (The lake is off limits to any boats with motors. You may have canoes, kayaks, tubes, etc. NO MOTORS)
