Take Hwy 93 about 20 minutes south of Salmon, Idaho. There's a dirt road just before a small town called Elk Bend. If you go around the bend in the road, you've gone too far! The dirt road is short and ends at the trailhead. Then you start hiking!

The hike is about 2 miles. You'll start on some switch backs, and then level off for quite a ways. You'll cross two bridges, maybe three before you start going up. Then it's pretty steep until the hot springs. The trail is well defined though.

The hot springs are a bunch of little pools. There's two popular pools up top after you cross the bridge that peers through the canyon. Farther down, however, is a fantastic little overhang/cave with a pool inside. The water isn't as hot, but it's still wade-worthy. The pool bottoms are sandy and soft, so it's very relaxing and comfortable after a long walk.
