Salmon River Reservoir - Tunnel Under Trail New York

It is a four wheeling trail but most of the time there aren't many around. But it is a long wooded hike that you can follow the shore of the reservoir without being bothered take as little or as much time enjoying the scenery as possible. The spot I marked is also a great place to fish.

During mid to late summer this area gets a little sea weed but its a more private place to swim than a lot of places. Generally if you move away from the little cove area the sea weed goes away and its very nice swimming.

Its not a mountain but the four-wheeler trail winds through the forest with good views of the reservoir. The trail is relatively flat (no steep gradients) so you can bring whoever you want here.

This is a somewhat poor place to launch a canoe or kayak but it has a cool tunnel under the trail that at low water you can paddle through. The entire reservoir is a great place to paddle.
