From downtown Boise take 10th street until it dead ends into Camels back park. To the right of the tennis courts you will see the trail head and a map of all the trails. There are many.

A wide variety of experiences and difficulties, this area is quite popular. Most of the trails cross private property as they leave the neighborhoods and begin their long ascent, so stay only on the marked trails. Because this is such a popular place it is important to respect others and keep yourself, your bike, your horse or your pet under control and tread lightly on the land. The foothills are desert like conditions. Very little tree cover and some of the trails in the steep parts can be sandy.
